When He Was Just 11 Years Old…
…during the last 10 nights of Ramadan… Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef (rA) had an idea:
If he made the same Dua every night, then one of those nights would inevitably land on Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power – and his Dua would be answered.
With full certainty and childlike faith, he selected his Dream Dua:
“O Allah, bless me to memorize the entire Qur’an in two years or less.”
He made that Dua with consistency throughout the last 10 nights.
Two years later, he completed his memorization of the entire Qur’an.
That experience, at just 11 years old, forever changed how he saw dua – not as a wish, but as a life designing tool.
Years later, in 2001, he had another realization:
Why we limit such powerful Dua-making to a childhood memory?
Why not make Dream Duas consistently – every day, every few months and live a life in pursuit of them?
Since then, he hosted personal retreats to dream, reflect, and craft his next set of Duas and live intentionally by working towards them.
This practice became the foundation of a movement helping others unlock that same power of dreaming, designing, and living life by Dua.
He summarizes it with this statement:
“I compose dream duas every 6 months… and then I live my life seeking them out.”
